Cornelis van der Lijn

Cornelis van der Lijn (* 1608 in Alkmaar , Netherlands ; † July 27, 1679 there ) was Governor General of the Dutch East Indies from 1646 to 1650 . He was succeeded by Carel Reyniersz .

Act

Van der Lijn was considered a weak leader. During his tenure as governor general, peace treaties were signed with Mataram , Solor and Bantam . In addition, on September 24, 1646, trade agreements were concluded with the Prince of Mataram.

At van der Lijn's request, he was dismissed from office on October 7, 1650 with full honors. He died on July 27, 1679 in his birthplace Alkmaar.
