Cornelis Pijnacker Hordijk (born April 13, 1847 in Drumpt , † September 3, 1908 in Haarlem ) was a Dutch lawyer and statesman .

Life

Pijnacker Hordijk studied at the University of Utrecht in 1864 . A few years later he was Rector of the Senate Veteranorum, at the head of the Student Corps and received his doctorate in law in 1873. In 1874 he became professor of legal history at the Athenaeum Illustre Amsterdam and in 1881 at the University of Utrecht. From 1882 to 1883 he was Minister of the Interior in Van Lynden van Sandenburg's liberal cabinet . From 1885 to 1888 he was governor of Drenthe and curator of the University of Groningen. From 1888 to 1893 he was Governor General of the Dutch East Indies , then worked as a curator in Delft and from 1902 as a curator of the University of Leiden .
