Çardak is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Denizli and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Denizli (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 2012 . Çardak is located about 57 km east of the center of Denizli and ranked 15th out of a total of 19 in terms of population at the end of 2018.

Attractions

The Hanabad caravanserai

The Hanabad caravanserai was built in the 13th century during the Seljuk rule by the local ruler Esedüddin Ayaz. It is a typical Seljuk caravanserai; fish, bulls' heads and sheep are depicted on their stones. Çardak was raised to the rank of a community (Belediye) in 1958, before that it was a village (1950: 1142 pop.). In 1958 the city and some localities were split off from the central Denizli district and became independent as a district.

Acıgöl is the second largest salt lake in Turkey and is located east of Çardak.

The Denizli Çardak Airport is located five kilometers southeast of Çardak. Airport services make up a large part of the city's economic life.
