Sooner or later (Original title: Blow Dry ) is an American comedy film of director Paddy Breathnach from 2001 onwards.
action
The frame plot describes the conditions at hairdressing competitions , which are located here in a somewhat sleepy English town called Keighley .
Alan Rickman is the grumpy Phil Allen, the hairdresser with the little shop around the corner, who was actually once a big player in his trade. To him his wife Shelley left to the lesbian hairstyles - model to live Sandra and to run your own salon. Their son Brian stayed with his deeply frustrated father.
Fate takes its course: Phil cannot avoid finally dealing with his past, nor does he manage to escape participation in the competition. Which brings his old adversary Raymond Robertson the loss of the championship . A tender love relationship develops between Christina, the daughter of his arch rival, and Phil's son.

At Alan Rickman's suggestion, a master hairdresser who worked as a consultant for the crew was appointed as a judge in the film.

“Comedy with a melodramatic effect, which knows how to seamlessly combine soft and garish tones and spreads an appealing 80s glamor. Sometimes the impression arises that too many stories should be told at once, but the clever construction saves the film from such shallows. "
