(15724) Zille is an asteroid of the inner main belt , which by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen and Lutz D. Schmadel on 12 October 1990 with the Schmidt telescope of the Karl Schwarzschild Observatory ( IAU code 033) in Tautenburger forest was discovered .

The asteroid's light curve was examined on May 19, 2010 by David Higgins at the Hunters Hill Observatory in Canberra- Ngunnawal. However, the results were too imprecise to determine the rotation period .

The track from (15724) Zille was secured in 2000 so that numbering could be assigned. The asteroid was named on October 13 of the same year at the suggestion of Freimut Börngen after the Berlin graphic artist , painter and photographer Heinrich Zille (1858-1929).
