(9905) Tiziano is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on September 24, 1960 by the Dutch astronomer couple Cornelis Johannes van Houten and Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld . The discovery came about as part of the Palomar-Leiden survey , during which Tom Gehrels examined field plates recorded at the University of Leiden with the 120 cm Oschin Schmidt telescope of the Palomar observatory .

The mean diameter of the asteroid was calculated to be 5.239 (± 0.040) kilometers and the albedo to be 0.099 (± 0.016).

(9905) Tiziano was named on April 2, 1999 after Tiziano Vecellio , the leading exponent of Venetian painting of the 16th century and one of the main masters of the Italian High Renaissance , also known as Tiziano or Tizian .
