101 Reykjavík is an Icelandic film from 2000. It is set in the Icelandic capital Reykjavík .
The film is based on the book of the same name by Hallgrímur Helgason . The film was directed by Baltasar Kormákur ; in addition to the Spaniard Victoria Abril and the main actor Hilmir Snær Guðnason played a number of other Icelandic actors. 101 stands for the postcode of the center of Reykjavík, the "old town".

Thirty-year-old Hlynur still lives with his mother and spends his days surfing the Internet, drinking and watching porn. His father is an alcoholic . The plot begins when Lola, his mother's flamenco teacher , moves in with them for Christmas . On the New Year he finds out that Lola is a lesbian , but still has (drunk) sex with her. His mother admits that she, too, is a lesbian and in love with Lola. Lola becomes pregnant after the affair with Hlynur and plans to raise the child together with Hlynur's mother. In addition, Hófi von Hlynur's long-term friend is pregnant. He tried suicide to commit, but it fails and decides to take on the responsibility and looks for a job.

The film won nine prizes, including two awards at the Edda Awards , an Icelandic award ceremony, and the Grand Jury Prize at the Festival du cinéma nordique in Rouen, France .
