Roman Empire
- Lucius Ceionius Commodus and Sextus Vettulenus Civica Cerialis are Roman consuls .
- After the suicide of the last Dacian king Decebalus , the Romans conquered the Dacian capital Sarmizegetusa , razed the city walls and ended the Dacian wars . On a military diploma from August 11 is Dacia first time as a Roman province called.
- Emperor Trajan creates the Roman province of Arabia Petraea after subjugating the kingdom of the Nabataeans .
Empire of China
- February 13 : After the death of the Chinese Emperor Han Hedi from the Eastern Han Dynasty , his wife Deng Sui places their only a few weeks old son Han Shangdi on the throne of the Empire . The new empress mother ignores her older brother Liu Sheng, who appears to be in poor health. During her reign, Deng Sui proclaimed a general amnesty, which primarily benefited the family and supporters of the overthrown Empress Dou .
