  • February 13 : After the death of the Chinese Emperor Han Hedi from the Eastern Han Dynasty , his wife Deng Sui places their only a few weeks old son Han Shangdi on the throne of the Empire . The new empress mother ignores her older brother Liu Sheng, who appears to be in poor health. During her reign, Deng Sui proclaimed a general amnesty, which primarily benefited the family and supporters of the overthrown Empress Dou .
  • The new emperor dies in late summer. Deng Sui prevents Liu Sheng from being raised to emperor again because she fears that he could take revenge on her for favoring Han Shandi. Instead, she brings her twelve-year-old nephew Liu Hu to the capital Luoyang , who ascends the throne under the name of Han Andi and leaves the reign to his aunt.

  • Gajus Julius Lacer built the 53 meter high and 194 meter long bridge over the Tagus (today Tajo ) to Alcantara (Spain) on behalf of the Emperor Trajan .
