17. San Marine Cabinet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 17th cabinet consisted of Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese (PDCS) and Partito Socialista Sammarinese (PSS) and ruled San Marino from November 11, 1974 to March 11, 1976. The PDCS provided seven ministers and the PSS three.

After the parliamentary elections on September 8, 1974, coalition negotiations lasted two months. PDCS and PSS continued their government alliance, which had existed since 1973, the Movimento Libertà Statuarie (MLS) - from 1973 to 1974 in a coalition with PDCS and PSS - left the government. The plan to enlarge the base of the government with the admission of the Partito Socialista Democratico Indipendente Sammarinese (PSDIS) could not be realized. The government formed on November 11, 1974 collapsed after one year when the PSS ministers submitted their resignation on November 19, 1975. After several months of negotiations, a new government, again made up of PDCS and PSS, was formed in March 1976.

With Legge No 29 of September 10, 1973, women were also given the right to stand for election . This was first used in the 1974 elections. Clara Boscaglia was the first woman in a San Marinese government.
