33rd San Marine Cabinet
The 33rd Cabinet ruled San Marino from November 27, 2007 to December 3, 2008. It consisted of members of the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici (PSD), Alleanza Popolare (AP), Sinistra Unita (SU) and Democratici di Centro parties (DdC).
The 32nd government , formed after the parliamentary elections on June 4, 2006, broke up in a dispute over criminal law reform. The two SU ministers resigned on October 23, 2006, after which the other coalition parties also withdrew their representatives from the government. After negotiations, a new government was formed on November 27, 2007, which, in addition to the previous coalition partners, also included the Democratici di Centro.
However, the new government was marked by disputes from the start and on July 11, 2008 the two AP ministers announced their resignation. At the end of June, the PSD, SU, DdC agreed on a new government together with the Sammarinesi per la Libertà , but this did not come about. On the morning of July 21, when the debate and vote on the new government in the Consiglio Grande e Generale was scheduled, two MPs from the PSD declared their resignation and founded the new Arengo e Libertà (AeL) party, giving the government-designate its parliamentary majority lost. After further attempts to form a government were unsuccessful, MPs from AP, PDCS , EpS , NPS , Noi Sammarinesi and AeL announced their resignation at the end of July . Parliament was thus dissolved and new elections were scheduled for November 9, 2009.
