The 2nd HNL 2018/19 was the 28th season of the second Croatian football league . The season started on August 24, 2018 and ended on May 25, 2019.

The league was expanded to 14 clubs for this season. These competed against each other twice on 26 match days.
The first in the table rose directly, the second played against the penultimate of the 1. HNL in the play-offs for promotion. The bottom of the table was relegated directly to the 3rd HNL . The NK Zadar was denied the license at the end of the season. The team played in the southern group of the 3rd HNL the following season. This eliminated the relegation relegation.
