The 2. HNL 1999/2000 was the ninth season of the second highest Croatian football league .

mode

After the relegated from the 1st HNL, NK Mladost 127 Suhopolje , had to withdraw for financial reasons, this season consisted of 17 teams. The teams played against each other twice, divided into a first half and a second half. The two best clubs rose to the 1st HNL 2000/01 . The last four clubs were relegated to the 3rd HNL .
