- February 6th : More than four years after the death of his predecessor Ahkal Mo 'Nahb I , K'an Joy Chitam I ascends the throne of the Maya city of Palenque as Ajaw .

- Arethas the Lame becomes the second king of the Ghassanids .
- Incursion of the Central Arabian Kinda tribe into the Mesopotamian Lachmid Empire , whose capital Hira they can conquer, but they are expelled again in the same year.
- Uprising of the Samaritans under Julian ben Sabar in Palestine , which also damages the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem . Justinian I then had it rebuilt.

- Benedict of Nursia founds a monastery on the Montecassino on the site of an old Apollo temple and begins the tradition of the Benedictine way of life with the Regula Benedicti .
- The Academy of Plato in Athens is a pagan vestige from the Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I closed. Some of the academy philosophers (e.g. Simplikios ) later found acceptance in Persia .
- In Orange finds Council of Orange instead. Among other things, she condemns Pelagianism as well as semipelagianism .
