Religion and culture
- September 22nd : Boniface II , a Goth born in Rome , becomes Pope. The majority of the Roman clergy elects Dioskur to be the antipope, who dies after 22 days. Since Boniface then forces the supporters of his opponent to admit their "mistake", Dioskur is traditionally counted among the (illegitimate) antipopes. Boniface confirmed during his pontificate , the decisions on the condemnation of Pelagianism and Semipelagianism that at the Council of Orange in 529 have been caught.
