Renovatio imperii
- May: The Eastern Roman troops under Belisarius succeed in conquering the Eastern Gothic residence city of Ravenna in the course of the Renovatio imperii . Witichis is captured and taken to Constantinople . Hildebad continued the Ostrogothic resistance .
