- Hassān ibn an-Nuʿmān is deposed because of the accumulation of great wealth as the Arab governor of the province of Ifrīqiya , today's Tunisia , by the superior Egyptian governor. Mūsā ibn Nusair replaces him in this function and continues the submission of the Magreb.
