ATV2 (also ATV II ) is an Austrian television broadcaster owned by  ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE . ATV2 went on the air on December 1, 2011, as the second television program of the private broadcaster ATV . Since April 6, 2017 ATV2 has been part of the Austrian broadcasting group ProSiebenSat.1 PULS4, a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE.

Sending scheme

ATV2 is intended to expand and supplement ATV's range of programs. The ATV2 program is designed to complement ATV: If ATV plays its own productions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the second program should bring films and series. Among other things, all seasons of the series Supernatural and Stargate Atlantis will be shown for the first time on Austrian television.

ATV2 will repeat in- house productions such as Bauer sucht Frau on alternative dates. ATV2 will mainly repeat its own formats (including at prime time) and play films and series. The program scheme also creates space for news and the weather: ATV aktuell produces two separate issues for ATV2 for 5:20 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. In addition, ATV2 is designed to appeal to a younger audience than ATV. In addition to feature films and documentaries, Japanese animes such as Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh! run while sitcoms and series are shown on the main evening program. Furthermore, a sneak preview is broadcast on Sunday in prime time over Saturday Night Fever - this is how Austria's youth celebrates . The Tuesday slot on ATV is retained.

Central in-house productions

The main in-house productions of ATV2 are:

reception

The ATV2 program has been receivable in Austria via cable and satellite (ORF or Sky Austria decoder card) since December 1, 2011 and via DVB-T since November 14, 2012. DVB-T reception will gradually be converted to DVB-T2 over the next few years and should then be available in the free, but basic encrypted offer on SimpliTV for 90 percent of households in Austria.
