Adenauer de Gaulle Prize
The Adenauer de Gaulle Prize is an award given to people who are committed to German-French cooperation. It is endowed with 10,000 euros and is awarded alternately in Germany and France. It is named after the former German Chancellor. D. Konrad Adenauer and the former President of the Republic of France Charles de Gaulle .
In the post-war period, both politicians ensured the reconciliation of the two Central European states that had consistently viewed each other as hereditary enemies during the two world wars. This reconciliation was sealed by the Élysée Treaty .
