Adios, Sabata is an Italo-Western on which the Sabata stamp was not applied until after the shooting was finished for better marketing. In the original (and the title song) the hero is called Indio Black .
action
Sabata is looking for a gold hiding place that has fallen under the control of Austrian soldiers of the Mexican army who came into the country with Emperor Maximilian. After finding it, he wants to hand it over to a group of Mexican revolutionaries who are fighting the invaders. Various cronies help him in this endeavor; However, the American adventurer Ballantine is after the gold for entirely selfish motives, which is finally found with the devious Colonel Schimmel, but in the end is of no use to any group: the wind blows it away, an abyss devours it.
Reviews
"Ambitious parody of spaghetti westerns, which in places amusingly mocks the clichés of the genre, but falls behind despite successful ideas about the genre's effects in itself."
"Parolini again demonstrates his first-class manual skills in the context of a highly entertaining Western that adds nothing essential to the genre, but looks great and is effective"
"Extremely entertaining action western"
