Adolf Glaser

Adolf Glaser , also Adolph Glaser ; Pseudonym : Reinald Reimar (born December 15, 1829 in Wiesbaden , Duchy of Nassau ; † March 21, 1915 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German writer , journalist and editor .
Life
Adolf Glaser first devoted himself to the art trade in Mainz , then prepared for the university and from 1853 studied history and philosophy at the University of Berlin . In 1856 he took over the editing of the newly founded cultural magazine “ Westermanns MONTHS ” in Braunschweig and held this position with interruptions until 1907.
Works
Glaser began his writing career with the dramas Kriemhildens Rache (Hamburg 1853) and Penelope (Hamburg 1854) , published under the pseudonym Reinald Reimar .
The novels Family Schaller (Prague 1857, 2 volumes) and others followed under his own name . Bianca Candiano (Hanover 1859); Stories and short stories (Braunschweig 1862, 3 volumes); Poems (1862); the tragedy Galileo Galilei (Berlin 1861); the novel What is truth? (Braunschweig 1869) and reading evenings (1867, 4 volumes); also the house spirit of Frau von Estobal (Berlin 1877); Schlitzwang (1878); A Magdalen without a halo (1878); Female Demons (1879, 2 volumes); the collection of novels from the 18th century (Leipzig 1880); Wulfhilde, novel from the 12th century (Berlin 1880); Modern opposites (Leipzig 1881); From high regions (Wismar 1882); Savonarola (Leipzig 1883); The Missing Document (1883); Cordula (1885); The Miss von Villecour (Dresden 1885).
In addition, Glaser turned preferably to the free arrangement of Dutch productions and thus contributed to the introduction of a number of Dutch authors in Germany at Hänschen Siebenstern , after Jacob van Lennep (Braunschweig 1867); Dutch short stories (1867); Abroad , after Gerard Keller (1868); Doctor Helmond and his wife , after Cremer (that. 1874.); Lideweide , after Conrad Busken Huet (1874); The Worker Princess after Jacobus Jan Cremer (1875); The son-in-law of Mrs. von Roggeveen (1876) and Jeannette and Juanito (Leipzig 1881), after Jan ten Brink ; The schoolmaster's house , after Gerard Keller (Braunschweig 1877); Von der Bretterwelt (Berlin 1882) and others.
