Alain Carpentier de Changy (born February 5, 1922 in Brussels , † August 5, 1994 in Etterbeek ) was a Belgian racing driver .

Career

De Changy was a well-known sports car driver in the 1950s, who primarily competed for the Belgian Equipe Nationale Belge. In 1956, as partner of Lucien Bianchi, he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in 1958 achieved his best result in this endurance race with sixth place overall.

In 1959 he failed when trying to qualify for a Formula 1 world championship run. The Equipe Nationale Belge provided him with a Cooper T51 for the Monaco Grand Prix , but 20th place in training was not enough to take part in the race.

After finishing eleventh in Pau - his best place in a monoposto race - he ended his racing career at the end of 1959.
