Albach is a district of the Wachenroth market in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is divided into Oberalbach and Unteralbach, 400 meters further southeast. It is on the Albach , which feeds a chain of ponds (Albachweiher, Hausweiher, Marschallseen) and is a left tributary of the Reichen Ebrach . The valley is narrowly cut and surrounded by wooded hills. In the north is the mountain ( 332  m above sea level ), about one kilometer to the west rises the Vestenberg ( 349  m above sea level ).

history

Albach was first mentioned in a document in a necrology of the Bamberg cathedral chapter, which must have been created before 1065. The deacon and cathedral canon Odalrich bequeathed ten ounces of gradient for an anniversary donation of the place. In 1093 the Bamberg Ministeriale Otto de Alechbach was mentioned. According to the name it had its headquarters in the village. In 1136 the place was mentioned as "Alichbach". With the founding of the Jesuit College Bamberg in 1647 this was u. a. equipped with two Albacher estates and the Hagersee.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties and a community shepherd's house in Albach. The high court exercised the Bamberg center Wachenroth . The village and township government had the box office Wachenroth held. The landlords were the Kastenamt Wachenroth (2 courtyards, 1 estate, 1 estate, 1 inn; Theodoric administration : 1 courtyard, 1 Sölde ), the Sambach administration of the University of Bamberg (1 estate), the Nuremberg State Almosenamt- Vogtei Lonnerstadt (1 courtyard, 1st floor ) Sölde), the parish Mühlhausen (1 Sölde), the parish Sambach (1 estate), the parish Wachenroth (1 Sölde).

As part of the community edict, Albach was assigned to the Wachenroth tax district, which was formed in 1808 . In the same year the rural community Wachenroth was formed, to which the place belonged.

The place is still predominantly Catholic and parish to St. Gerturd (Wachenroth) . The inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish to St. Maria and Kilian (Mühlhausen) .

traffic

The district road ERH 34 / BA 2 runs after Reichmannsdorf to state road 2262 (2.5 km northwest) or past Eckartsmühle to state road 2260 (2.8 km southeast) between Wachenroth in the west and Mühlhausen in the east. A community road runs to Wachenroth to St 2260 (2.3 km south), another community road runs to Decheldorf (1 km northeast).
