Albert A. Carmichael

Albert August Carmichael (born July 27, 1895 in Ozark , Alabama , † June 4, 1952 ) was an American lawyer and politician .

The son of Charles Daniel and Fannie Lillie Carmichael studied at the University of Alabama , the law , having previously the Geneva High School had visited. After graduating, he worked as a lawyer in Geneva for around 15 years ; then he became a Geneva County Attorney . Carmichael also represented this county in the Alabama Senate . From 1935 to 1939 he held the office of Attorney General of Alabama for the first time ; he took the same post again from 1947 to 1951. From 1939 to 1943 Albert Carmichael was Lieutenant Governor of Alabama.

Carmichael served in the US Army in both world wars : In World War I he held the rank of Second Lieutenant in the field artillery; During the Second World War he was a member of the military for five years. He was in Africa , Belgium , Germany and the Netherlands . After the German defeat, he served as the military governor of the city of Aachen . He resigned his service with the rank of colonel .

On July 3, 1930, Carmichael married Erin Stallworth in Evergreen . The marriage had two children.
