James C. Inzer

James Clarence Inzer (born March 5, 1887 in Springville , St. Clair County , Alabama , † December 20, 1967 ) was an American politician .

Inzer attended Howard College and then studied from 1910 to 1911 at the Law School of the University of Alabama law . After completing his studies he began in Gadsden as a lawyer at the law firm Hood, Inzer, Martin, and Suttle to practice. In 1916, Inzer, a member of the Democratic Party , was a delegate at the Democratic National Convention . During the First World War , he served in France to fight against the Central Powers as a member of the 81st Infantry Division . After the war, Inzer was a senator for his party in the Alabama Senate from 1923 to 1927 . In 1946 he was elected lieutenant governor of Alabama and held that office from 1947 to 1951.

Inzer had been married to Alice Stone Weatherly since February 1, 1921, with whom he had three children, a son and two daughters.
