Albert Guðmundsson (born June 15, 1997 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic football player . The striker is under contract with AZ Alkmaar .

Career

In his youth, Albert was initially active at KR Reykjavík . In 2013 he left the club for SC Heerenveen . There he played in the youth and recommended himself for the Icelandic U-17 selection . In 2015 he moved to the second team of PSV Eindhoven and rose to the pros in July 2017. In the senior national team , he made his first appearance on January 14, 2018 in Jakarta in a friendly against Indonesia and scored three goals to make it 4-1. He took part in the 2018 World Cup with the national team and was used in a group game.

In August 2018 Albert was signed by AZ Alkmaar . His contract runs until 2022.
