Teun Koopmeiners (born February 28, 1998 in Castricum ) is a Dutch football player . He is under contract with his youth club AZ and is a young Dutch national player.

Career

Teun Koopmeiners started playing football at Vitesse '22 in Castricum in the province of North Holland and in 2009 moved to the AZ junior academy . On October 1, 2017, at the age of 19, he made his debut in the Eredivisie on matchday seven of the 2017/18 season . At the end of the season Koopmeiners was third in the table with the club and thus qualified for the third qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League .

National team

Koopmeiners played four games for the Dutch U-17 national team and at least one game for the U-18s and took part with the Dutch U-19 national team in the 2017 U-19 European Championship in Georgia . There they reached the semi-finals, in which they were eliminated by Portugal . Koopmeiners came to 13 missions for the U-19. After five appearances for the U-20 team , he played his first game for the Dutch U-21 national team on March 22, 2018, at 1: 4 in the test match in Doetinchem against Belgium .

On August 19, 2020, Teun Koopmeiners was nominated for the first time for the Dutch senior team when he was appointed to the provisional squad for the group matches in the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League against Poland and Italy.
