Albin Schober

Albin Schober (born February 15, 1938 in St. Stefan im Lavanttal ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and farmer . Schober was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry from 1976 to 1983 and then from 1983 to 1986 a member of the National Council .

After completing compulsory schooling, Schober attended business school and then completed an agricultural training course. In 1962 he took over his parents' farm and subsequently worked as a farmer. Schober worked from 1966 to 1977 as a councilor of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry for Carinthia and, from 1980, federal chairman of the SPÖ's working farmers' association. Schober worked between October 1, 1976 and May 24, 1983 as State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and then represented the SPÖ in the National Council from June 1, 1983 to December 16, 1986.

Schober is the father of the historian Anna Schober .
