The Aleatico di Gradoli is a sweet Italian red wine and a liqueur wine from the area west of Lake Bolsena in the Lazio region . The wine has had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1972 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

The fragrant dessert wine is produced in a very restricted area of ​​the Viterbo province in the municipalities of Gradoli , Grotte di Castro , San Lorenzo Nuovo and part of the municipality of Latera .

The wine is ( unmixed ) from the vine Aleatico prepared (95% minimum). Some of the wines are produced using the Passito process.
