With the name Castelli Romani , Italian white , rosé and red wines (either dry or sweet or as frizzante ) are produced in the Lazio region . The wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1996 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.
