Marino (wine)
With the designation Marino DOC , Italian white wines (dry to sweet) as well as sparkling and sparkling wines are developed in the metropolitan city of Rome ( Lazio region ). The wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1970 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.
Cultivation
The wines are produced in the following communities: Marino (eponymous) and Ciampino as well as in parts of the communities of Rome and Castelgandolfo .
generation
The following composition of grape varieties is prescribed:
- Marino (either dry, semi-dry, sweet or sweet ): must consist of at least 50% of the grape variety Malvasia Bianca di Candia (also known locally as "Malvasia rossa"). A maximum of 50% other white, non-aromatic grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Lazio region may be added (individually or together).
- There are also late harvest - and Passitoweine generated (both sweet or sweet).
- Furthermore, almost single-variety wines are produced, in which the named grape variety must be at least 85%. A maximum of 15% other white, non-aromatic grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Lazio region may be added:
- Marino Malvasia del Lazio
- Marino Trebbiano verde (synonym for Verdicchio bianco)
- Marino Bellone
- Marino Greco
- Marino Bombino
Wines with the addition of Classico must come from the historical zone.
