Colli Albani (wine)

With the name Colli Albani DOC , Italian white wines as well as sparkling wines ( Spumante ) and young wines (Novello) are developed in the Alban Mountains ( Lazio region ). The wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1970 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

The following municipalities are authorized for the cultivation and vinification of the wines: Ariccia and Albano , as well as parts of the municipalities of Pomezia , Ardea , Castelgandolfo and Lanuvio - all located in the metropolitan city of Rome .

  • Color: from straw yellow to light straw
  • Smell: vinous and delicate
  • Taste: dry or semi-dry or sweet or sweet , characteristic, fruity
  • Alcohol content: at least 10.5  % by volume , for "Superiore" at least 11.5% by volume
  • Acidity : at least 4.5 g / l
  • Dry extract: at least 16.0 g / l
