Aleksandar Milenković (born December 22, 1967 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian cyclist, cross-country skier and biathlete . The versatile athlete has already taken part in the Olympic Games in all three sports .

Aleksandar Milenković lives in Belgrade and is a trained cycling trainer. He is the Race Director of the Tour de Serbia . The married father of two daughters started out cycling in summer and cross-country skiing in winter, before switching from cycling to biathlon in 2002. His coach is Radosav Jelisijević, his club SK Zlatibor .

Cycling

Milenković started at the 1992 Summer Olympics both in the road race , where he finished 42nd, and in the team time trial over 100 kilometers, where he was 18th with the Yugoslav four, who competed as an independent team because of the political problems in the Balkans. In 1991 he won the Tour of Bulgaria .

Cross-country skiing

Before Milenković could no longer compete for a united Yugoslavia in the cycling competitions in the summer, he took part in the Games at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , starting for Yugoslavia and competed in four competitions. In the 10-kilometer race, the Serb was 87th, over 30 kilometers 80, over 50 kilometers 65 and in the pursuit race 75. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf , he finished 94th in the 15-kilometer race. At the 2006 Olympic Winter Games of Turin Milenković took before all as a biathlete for Serbia and Montenegro starting part, but he stepped over 50 kilometers of, but did not finish. In general, the Serb started in lower-class racing series in the 2000s, for example in the Alpine Cup , the Scandinavian Cup, the Balkan Cup or in FIS races. Milenković contested his first biathlon race in 2002 as part of the European Biathlon Cup . In Forni Avoltri , the Serb competed at the European Biathlon Championships in 2003 and finished 62nd in the sprint. He contested the first World Cup race in 2004 in Antholz . He was 113 in the sprint. Shortly afterwards he ran at the 2004 Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof . He was 107th in the individual, 108th in the sprint. Other biathlon world championships followed in 2005 in Hochfilzen , 2007 in Antholz and 2008 in Östersund . Only once, as 92nd in the Antholz sprint, was Milenković able to place beyond the 100 ranks. Things went better for the Serbs at the 2006 Olympic Games. At the competitions in Cesana San Sicario , he finished 85th both in the individual and in the sprint. Also in 2006, he achieved his best World Cup result in an Antholz sprint, 81st. After 2003, Milenković took part in other continental championships in 2006 in Langdorf , 2007 in Bansko and 2008 in Nové Město na Moravě . In 2006 and 2008 he reached placements in the 70s, in 2007 he was 56th in the individual and 57th in the sprint. In addition to his active career, he became a coach and is currently in charge of the Serbian women's national team.

Summer biathlon

In 2003 in Forni Avoltri and in 2006 in Ufa Milenković took part in world championships in summer biathlon . In 2003 he came 35th in the sprint and 36th in the pursuit. In 2006 he only crossed the finish line in the sprint of cross-country competitions and was 29 there.
