Alexander Gamnitzer (* 1978 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German actor , speaker and theater director .

Life

education

Gamnitzer completed his acting training from 1998 to 2002 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin . During his training he played at the bat studio theater from 1999 to 2002 . From 2001 to 2002 he was a guest at the Berliner Ensemble . In 2001 he received the Max Reinhardt Prize for the best individual performance at the Theatertreffen German-speaking drama students in Bern .

Gamnitzer had his first permanent engagement at the Freiburg Theater (2002–2006). There he played u. a. Adonis in Venus und Adonis (2002; directed by Sybille Fabian), Gernot in Kriemhilds Traum von Moritz Rinke (2002; directed by Sebastian Baumgarten ), Max Piccolomini in Wallenstein (2004; directed by Gerd Heinz ), Queequeg in Moby Dick (2004; Director: Amélie Niermeyer ) and Graf F ... in Die Marquise von O .... (2004; Director: Sybille Fabian).

He then worked at the Leipzig Theater from 2006 to 2008 . Here u. a. Ruprecht in Der zerbrochne Krug (2006; Director: Deborah Epstein ), the title role in Liliom (2006; Director: Jan Jochymski ), Mosca in Volpone (2007; Director: Marc Lunghuß ) and Lövborg in Hedda Gabler (2007; Director: Markus Dietz ) to his stage roles.

From summer 2008 he worked as a freelance actor and appeared regularly as a guest at the Dresden State Theater . He played there u. a. Haimon in Antigone (2008; as role takeover, director: Yael Ronen ), Tempelherr in Nathan der Weise (April 2009; as role takeover with Dieter Mann as partner in the title role, director: Holk Freytag ) and took on minor roles in King Lear (2008) and Wilhelm Tell (2009). In 2010 he was a guest at the LOFFT Leipzig and the Societätstheater Dresden , in December 2011 again at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden (as “Spirit of the Present Christmas” in the current production of Charles Dickens ' Christmas story A Christmas Carol ), in 2013 at the Halle Opera House . He also worked in independent theater productions.

Since summer 2013 he has been engaged as an actor and studio manager at the Neue Theater Halle . Teaching and directing

Since 2011 Alexander Gamnitzer has been working as an acting lecturer at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig .

Gamnitzer has also been working as a theater director since 2014. His first own production was the play Salzwasser by Conor McPherson at the New Theater Halle in May 2014 , where he also took on the role of Ray. In September 2014 followed by his second directorial work with students from the drama studio Halle, Die Flinte, die Laterne und Mary Monroe, based on motifs from the book by Clemens Meyer . In June 2016 Gamnitzer's first summer theater production premiered. In addition to his main work at the theater, Gamnitzer has taken on mostly medium and small roles in film and television since 2002. Often played unpleasant, violent characters or the villain.

In the RTL television series Hinter Gittern - Der Frauenknast , he had a recurring supporting role from 2003-2004. He was 'Toast', the long-haired henchman of the series character Erich Gomulka.
