Alexander Gruszynski

Alexander A. Gruszynski (born June 19, 1950 in Warsaw , Poland ) is a Polish cameraman and film director .

Life

Alexander Gruszynski was born as the son of the neurologist Dr. Zofia Gruszynski and a poet and author born in Warsaw . After graduating from Zamoyski Gymnasium in Warsaw , he moved to Denmark with his mother, who was given a position at the Panum Institute in Copenhagen , where he studied camera again at Den Danske Filmskole after completing his first degree at the University of Copenhagen . And after working independently as a cameraman for the first time with the documentary Your Neighbor's Son, he was honored with the honorary Bodil for his first feature film work in 1978.

Gruszynski emigrated to the United States in 1985 , where he worked for several years as a cameraman for Andrew Fleming and made films for him such as Einsam Zweisam Dreisam , The Witches Club , I Love Dick and An Unequal Couple .

Gruszynski has been married to the US film producer Ellen Harper Collett since May 1990.
