Alexander von Rohrscheidt

Friedrich Karl Alexander von Rohrscheidt (born June 3, 1808 in Weißenfels , † December 18, 1881 in Herzberg ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

He came from a Bohemian noble family . His parents were the castle captain to Weißenfels Friedrich Wilhelm von Rohrscheidt (1767-1856) and his second wife Henriette Karoline Charlotte Christiane Sophie Gerischer († 1813).

Career

Rohrscheidt joined the 32nd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army in 1824 and was promoted to Second Lieutenant by 1826 . From 1830 to 1837 he was adjutant of the III. Battalion in the 32nd Landwehr Regiment in Herzberg, in 1839 also a teacher at the division school of the 8th Division and in 1841 rose to the position of company commander of his battalion. He was then promoted to Premier Lieutenant in 1842 and was given the position of company commander in the 4th Combined Reserve Battalion in 1847. In 1848 Rohrscheidt was a captain and company commander in the 32nd Infantry Regiment. After his promotion to major in 1854, he was transferred to the 31st Infantry Regiment in 1855 and commander of the IV Combined Reserve Battalion. He was transferred in 1856 as commander of the 1st battalion in the 27th Landwehr Regiment in Halberstadt, followed by promotion to lieutenant colonel in 1859 . In 1860 Rohrscheidt was initially commissioned to lead the 19th combined infantry regiment and then appointed commander . He remained in this position until 1865. His promotion to colonel in 1861 was followed by the award of the Order of the Crown III in 1864 . Class.
