Alexei Borissowitsch Troschtschinski ( Kazakh Алексей Борисович Трощинский ; born October 9, 1973 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Kazakh ice hockey player who was four times Russian champion . His younger brother Andrei (1978-2015) was also a Kazakh national player.
Career
Alexei Troschtschinski began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk , for whose professional team he was active in the top Soviet and Russian leagues from 1990 to 1994. In the 1993/94 season, the defender played for Torpedo in the Kazakh ice hockey league and became champions with his team. He was also voted the best defender in the league. He then received a contract with HK Dynamo Moscow from the Russian Super League . With the capital city he won the CIS championship in 1995 and the Russian championship in 2000 . In 1996 and 1999 he failed in the playoff final for the championship with Dynamo. At the European level, the national player was defeated in 1998 by VEU Feldkirch from the Austrian ice hockey league . He was also successful with Moscow in 1996 in the national cup competition, the IHL Cup.
For the 2000/01 season Troschtschinski signed with HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , with whom he was also Russian champion. After this success he returned to HK Dynamo Moscow and was champion in the Russian top division for the fourth time in 2005. He played a significant role in winning the title, as he had the best plus / minus balance in the entire super league in the main round as well as in the playoffs . From 2005 to 2007, the 1998 Olympian was under contract with HK Awangard Omsk , with whom he failed in the playoff final at Ak Bars Kazan in the 2005/06 season . After another season at Dynamo Moscow, he was committed to the 2008/09 season by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod from the newly founded Continental Hockey League , for which he played until 2010. In the 2010/11 season he was initially on the ice with league rivals Atlant Mytishchi , but also completed a few games for HK Ryazan in the Wysschaja Hockey League . He ended the season with Vityas Chekhov .
On February 20, 2012 Troschtschinski completed his 1000th game in the Russian top division. During the 2012/13 season he moved to the Kazakh KHL club Barys Astana , where he ended his career in the summer of 2013.
International
In the junior division Troschtschinski first took part in the U18 European Championship in 1991 for the Soviet Union, where he finished second with his team. For Kazakhstan he took part in the U20 World Cup in 1992 with the U20 team of the Commonwealth of Independent States and won the world championship there.
For Kazakhstan Troschtschinski took part in the C world championships in 1993 , 1994 and 1996 , as well as the B world championships in 1997 , 1999 and 2000 . At the World Championships in Division I in 2011 and 2013 , he achieved promotion to the top division with the Kazakh team. In addition, he was in Kazakhstan's squad at the 2004 and 2012 World Championships , when they took part in the top division, as well as the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and the Olympic qualification for the 2014 Sochi Games in February 2013 .
