Ali Eren Demirezen (* 2. April 1990 in Samsun ) is a Turkish professional boxer in the heavyweight division .

Amateur career

Ali Eren Demirezen is from Balıkesir and started boxing in 2005. From 2011 he appeared nationally and internationally with the amateurs and fought in the super heavyweight (+91 kg). He became Turkish champion in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and won the silver medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin . After winning the international Ahmet Cömert tournament in Istanbul by winning the final against Joseph Joyce , he started at the 2013 World Championships in Almaty , where he was eliminated by Magomed Omarow .

At the EU Championships in Sofia in 2014 he lost to Tony Yoka , but in the same year he won the tournaments "Kadyrov Memorial" in Grozny and the "Governor Cup" in Saint Petersburg .

In 2015 he took part in the European Games in Baku and the European Championships in Samokow , where he finished 7th and 6th after losing to Məhəmmədrəsul Məcidov and Florian Schulz . At the 2015 World Championships in Doha , he defeated Mantas Valavičius and Satish Kumar , before being eliminated this time by Joseph Joyce in the quarter-finals.

In April 2016, he won a starting ticket for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro at the European qualification in Samsun . There he lost in the round of 16 against Filip Hrgović .

AIBA Pro Boxing (APB)

From June 2015 Demirezen took part in the semi-professional APB series and defeated in the first duel the later Olympic champion Tony Yoka , to whom he was still defeated at the 2014 EU championships. In the second fight he beat Bernáth István from Hungary and in another fight the Croatian Marin Mindoljević.

Professional career

The 1.90 m tall left arm made his professional debut on October 15, 2016 in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg against the Pole Patryk Kowoll and won early. In December 2017 he defeated the British Michael Sprott in a preliminary fight by Umut Camkiran by technical knockout (TKO) in the fifth round.

On March 24, 2018, he won the WBO European heavyweight title with a TKO win in the second round against Rad Rashid. In September 2018 he defended the title through TKO against Sergiej Werwejko. He won another title defense in April 2019 by disqualifying his opponent against Adnan Redžović.

In July 2019 he lost on points to Efe Ajagba .
