The Andoas district is located in the Datem del Marañón province in the Loreto region in northeastern Peru . The district was formed on August 1, 2005 from parts of the Pastaza district. It has an area of ​​11,809 km². At the 2017 census, 14,069 people lived in the district. In 2007 the population was 9375. The administrative seat is the 210  m high village Alianza Cristiana with 608 inhabitants located on the eastern shore of Lake Anatico (as of 2017). Alianza Cristiana is 150 km north of the provincial capital San Lorenzo .

Geographical location

The Andoas District is located in the northeast of the Datem del Marañón Province. The district is located in the Peruvian Amazon . The Río Pastaza flows south in the east of the district. The district extends in the south to below the confluence of the Río Huitoyacu in the Río Pastaza. The district of Andoas includes the catchment area of the Río Pastaza , located north of it, to the Ecuadorian border in the north. The rivers Río Huasaga , Río Manchari and Río Huitoyacu cross the area in a southerly direction.

The Andoas district borders on Ecuador to the north, the Trompeteros district ( Loreto province ) to the east, the Urarinas districts (also in the Loreto province) and Lagunas ( also in the province of Loreto) and Lagunas ( Alto Amazonas province ) to the south, the Pastaza district to the south and Pastaza to the west to the Morona district .
