Office Calenberg
The office of Calenberg was a historical administrative area of the Principality of Calenberg , later the Kingdom of Hanover and the Prussian Province of Hanover .
history
Calenberg Castle was built at the end of the 13th century as a Guelph border fortress against the Hildesheim Monastery and, after the destruction of Lauenrode Castle (1371), served as the administrative center of Guelph property between Leine and Deister . The Grand Bailiwick of Calenberg included the Goe Gehrden, Seelzen, Pattensen, Gestorf, Eldagsen and the Bailiwick of Langenhagen. After the Reformation it was increased by the property of the Wittenburg monastery . From the 17th century onwards, the scope was reduced to an office by separating the Office Springe , the Vogtei Langenhagen (1643) and part of the Goe Pattensen (1643/53). In 1817 the Wennigsen office was also separated. The current office of Calenberg consisted only of the house bailiwick, the bailiwick of Rössing, the Goen Adensen, Gestorf and Pattensen (partially) and the towns of Pattensen and Eldagsen . The office of the bailiff was Schulenburg. The official district experienced an increase after the abolition of the patrimonial jurisdiction . In the course of the administrative reform of 1852, Arnum was transferred to the Hanover Office , Bockerode and Mittelrode to the Springe Office and Eddinghausen to the Gronau (Leine) office . Since 1867 the office of Calenberg with the offices of Springe and Wennigsen as well as the unofficial cities of Eldagsen, Münder and Pattensen formed the (tax) district of Wennigsen. In 1885 it was abolished and incorporated into the Springe district.
