The Babenhausen District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1933 and was based in the Swabian town of Babenhausen .

history

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in Babenhausen, its district from

was formed. The higher authority was the Memmingen Regional Court .

With effect from January 1, 1933, the district court of Babenhausen was repealed and from its district the places Mohrenhausen, Tafertshofen and Zaiertshofen were assigned to the district court of Krumbach (Swabia) , while the other places were assigned to the district court of Illertissen .

Courthouse

The district court was located in a two- or three-storey two-wing complex with hipped roofs on Marktplatz 2. The building, which dates back to the 18th century and which already housed the district court and the ruling court of the Fugger von Babenhausen princes , is now a listed building.
