Oberroth is a municipality in the Swabian district of Neu-Ulm in Bavaria . She is a member of the Buch Verwaltungsgemeinschaft .

Geographical location
The parish village is located in the Donau-Iller region in Central Swabia in the Roth valley , 25 km north of Memmingen and 35 km southeast of Ulm .

history
Until the 19th century
Oberroth was called Rota around 780 . In 898 it was mentioned in an imperial charter. The place belonged to the Hochstift Augsburg . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 it belongs to Bavaria.
20th century
Before the municipal reform in 1972, all districts belonged to the former district of Illertissen . On May 1, 1978 the district of Unterschönegg was ceded to the market Babenhausen ( district of Unterallgäu ), on January 1, 1979 a small part of Altenstadt was added.

Between 1988 and 2019 the municipality grew from 724 to 909 by 185 inhabitants or by 25.6%.

coat of arms
The description of the coat of arms reads: In red a looped golden tip, inside a growing red bishop's staff; in front a silver wavy bar, behind a half silver eagle with a gap. The original coat of arms was reduced and the beam was redesigned to a wave beam to symbolize the geographic location of the community in the valley of the Roth. The crosier commemorates the rule of the principality of Augsburg.

Economy including agriculture and forestry
In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees in the manufacturing sector and no employees in the trade and transport sector at the place of work. Ten people were employed in other economic sectors at the place of work, subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 308 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were two companies in the manufacturing sector, none in the main construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 30 farms with an agricultural area of 500 ha, of which 227 ha were arable land and 273 ha were permanent green space. The Reitinger brewery with an attached brewery inn is located in Oberroth.

Oberroth is on the state road St 2020. The A 7 motorway runs about four kilometers to the west. Junction points are Illertissen (AS 124) and Altenstadt (AS 125) . There is a bus connection Babenhausen - Illertissen.
