Holzheim is a municipality in the Swabian district of Neu-Ulm . The place of the same name is both the capital and the seat of the municipal administration.

history
Until the church is planted
Before 1800, Holzheim was a nursing office and belonged to the cathedral chapter of the Augsburg bishopric . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
Incorporations
On July 1, 1970, the previously independent community of Neuhausen was incorporated.
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,468 to 1,910 by 442 inhabitants or by 30.1%.

Mayor has been Thomas Hartmann (CSU / village community) since May 2020; he was elected on March 15, 2020 with 90.0% of the votes without any competitors. His predecessor was Ursula Brauchle (CSU / village community), who was elected on September 16, 2012 and at that time succeeded her party friend Franz Wegele (1946–2013), who held office from 1998 to 2012.

In 2017 there were 122 employees subject to social security contributions in the municipality. 835 of the inhabitants were in employment subject to compulsory insurance. This means that the number of out-commuters was 713 higher than that of in-commuters. 16 residents were unemployed.
In 2016 there were still nine farms (1999: eleven). Of the 760 hectares in the communal corridor, 382 hectares were used for agriculture.

Holzheim is on the connecting road between Pfaffenhofen and Neu-Ulm . There are also connections to the neighboring towns of Steinheim and Remmeltshofen and Hirbishofen.

- On September 8, 1929, the gymnastics club for sport and physical exercise was founded in Holzheim. Over the years TSV Holzheim developed from this. The association currently consists of five departments (football / tennis / theater / table tennis / gymnastics) with a total of around 870 members.
- Schützenkapelle Holzheim
- The rifle chapel in its current form was founded in 1963 from the ranks of the rifle club.

- The Holzheim shooting club was founded in 1904. Together with the Schützenkapelle, the association had over 300 members in 2006.
