history

A nursing court or regional court was already mentioned in documents in 1270 and 1280. On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in Landsberg, the district of which corresponded to that of the previous district court district of the older order .

The building in which the main seat of the district court is located, which is now a listed building, was built in the years 1898/99 in neo-baroque style on the western edge of the old town. The building complex is U-shaped and consists of the main building, the rear building and a connecting building in which there are also several conference rooms. The rear building was also used as a prison in the past . In 1987, the Weilheim Landbauamt was commissioned to plan the renovation and expansion of the court. In the course of the construction work, the building was renovated, a conference room and a witness waiting area were created, and the top floor was partially expanded. The rear building was extended to the south in order to create more work rooms.

The construction work was completed on October 1, 1992 with the inauguration of the extension.
