Ana Milva Gomes (born 1980 in The Hague) is a Dutch musical performer who has lived and worked in Vienna since 2011 .

life and work

Ana Milva Gomes comes from a Cape Verdean family. Her parents met in Italy and then moved to Rotterdam. She studied at the Dansacademie Lucia Marthas in Amsterdam and made her debut as Nehebka in the musical Aida by Tim Rice and Elton John at the Colosseum Theater in Essen . She stayed in Essen for five years. On the Aida tour in 2007, she played the leading actress as the first cast.

In 2008 she went to Hamburg, where she could be seen and heard in two Disney musicals: as Nala in the Lion King and as Kala in Tarzan . She went on tour with the Best of Musical Gala , made guest appearances at Holiday on Ice and performed with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt am Main .

She came to Vienna in 2011 as Deloris van Cartier in the popular musical Sister Act , where she has lived and worked ever since. Since then she has played a number of important roles at the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien , Maria Magdalena in Jesus Christ Superstar , Paulette Buonufont in Naturally Blond , Donna in Mamma Mia! and the Baroness von Waldstätten in Mozart! . She was also a soloist in the production We are Musical at the Raimund Theater in Vienna . Guest performances have taken her to Holland (as Deloris van Cartier) and to Magdeburg (for Hair in an open-air production). She also gives solo programs, for example in the theater couch . It was seen in a European premiere at the Kammerspiele Vienna .

From March 2017 to June 2017 Gomes was a candidate in the ORF dance show Dancing Stars , where she came second.

Since 2019 she has been playing in Vienna as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber 's Cats .
