Bengt Anders Oscar ("Andrew") Burman (born September 24, 1928 in Stockholm ; † June 26, 2013 ibid) was a Swedish jazz musician ( drums , also percussion , vocals ), band leader and music producer .
Live and act
Anders played in 1947 with Charlie Norman , who made the first recordings, in 1949 with his brother Lars with Börje Ekberg. With his Andrew Burman's Ragtime Band he recorded in 1950 for the metronome label, of which he was a co-founder. In the 1950s he also worked in the bands of Lars Gullin , Bengt Hallberg , Harry Arnold , Jan Johansson and Gösta Theselius , and he accompanied guest American musicians such as The Delta Rhythm Boys , Roy Eldridge , Art Farmer , Stan Getz and Tyree Glenn , Clifford Brown and James Moody . From the 1960s he also worked as a music producer with Cornelis Vreeswijk , Fred Åkerström , Pugh Rogefeldt , Svante Thuresson , Lill Lindfors , Per Myrberg , Siw Malmkvist , Anna-Lena Löfgren and Ann-Louise Hanson . In the field of jazz, he was involved in 129 recording sessions between 1947 and 1977, in addition to the aforementioned with Gunnar Almstedt , Svend Asmussen , Alice Babs , Arne Domnérus , Ove Lind , Åke Persson , Reinhold Svensson and Toots Thielemans . He also acted in several Swedish films from 1938 to 1954.
