After eight games, he moved in 2008 to the Japanese Super League for the Albirex club from Niigata . For the 2008/09 season Smith returned to Europe and played in the British Basketball League for the Everton Tigers from Liverpool . He then got a contract with the Italian first division club from Caserta for the 2011/12 season . In the championship expanded to 17 teams, the club only reached the penultimate place in the table and was only able to hold the class because of withdrawals and license withdrawals of other clubs.
