Andreas Lutz (born March 30, 1986 in Meran , South Tyrol ) is an Italian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Ritten Sport in the Alps Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Andreas Lutz began his career at his home club, HC Meran . In 2005 he signed a contract with Ritten Sport before moving to SG Pontebba for three years in 2006 , with which he won the Coppa Italia in 2008. At the end of the 2008/09 season he was loaned to SG Cortina , as his team had no chance of a play-off place. In summer 2009 he returned to SG Pontebba. For the 2011/12 season Lutz moved to Hockey Milano Rossoblu in the second-rate A2 series . As early as 2012, he and the team from the Lombardy metropolis made it to the top . After four seasons in Milan, the South Tyrolean moved to Asiago Hockey , where he stayed two seasons. Lutz then continued his career at Ritten Sport.

International

Andreas Lutz represented his home country in the junior division at the U18 World Championships in 2003 and 2004 and the U20 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 .

For the world championship of the top division in 2008 he was nominated for the first time for the men's selection of Italy and finished last with the national team, which led to Italy's relegation to division I. In 2011 he was named to the squad for the Division I World Cup and was on the ice in four games for his home country. As group winners, they were promoted to the top division again.

family

His father Bernhard Lutz (* 1956) was the head coach of HC Merano in the top Italian division in the 2003/04 season. He also temporarily acted as an assistant trainer in the Merano youth team.
