Anglican Church of Kenya

The Anglican Church of Kenya ( Anglican Church of Kenya ) is a member church of the Anglican Communion . Developed from the missions of the 19th century, it formed the province of East Africa together with Tanzania since 1960 , but in 1970 it was separated into the provinces of Kenya and Tanzania .

The highest authority of this church is the Provincial Synod , to which the Archbishop is subordinate, who has had his seat in the diocese of All Saints Cathedral since 2002 . The church comprises a total of 29 dioceses. Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya is currently Eliud Wabukala .

The Church of Kenya belongs to the conservative majority of Anglican churches that have rejected the ordination of the homosexual Gene Robinson as bishop. It has declared communion with the Episcopal Church of the United States of America to be over.
