The Church of the Province of Burundi is a member of the Anglican Communion and today has over 625,000 believers. Organized in 6 dioceses (Bujumbura, Buye, Gitega, Makamba, Matana, Muyinga) with 150 parishes, the church has around 170 priests. In 1992 she succeeded in achieving her independence, so that at her head as primate is the archbishop of the province of Burundi .
