Church of Ceylon

The Church of Ceylon is a member church of the Anglican Community and belonged to the Church of Pakistan until 1970 . Today it is limited to the area of Sri Lanka . Its two dioceses ( Colombo and Kurunagala ) are subordinate to the Archbishop of Canterbury as a primate extra-provincially .

The area of ​​the Church of Ceylon is one of the oldest mission areas of the Anglican Church. The first missionary work there was in 1796. The diocese of Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka is part of the Church of South India .
